Drunken Shrimp


  • 1 lb. shrimp, rinsed peeled and deveined
  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • ½ clove garlic, minced
  • ½ cup brandy
  • ¼ cup white wine
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ½ cup Amaretto
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon orange zest


Sauté shrimp in butter and garlic until done (about 3 minutes per side). Remove shrimp from pan and discard excess butter. Add brandy to pan and flame the liquid. When flame goes out, add white wine and orange juice. Reduce liquid until syrupy. Add Amaretto, cream and orange zest. Simmer until sauce is creamy. Pour over shrimp and serve.
